About AMClive.org

A service of the Appalachian Music Collective.

One place for every live show in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. No account, no app store, no ads. Save it to your home screen and it works like an app.

How it stays current

Every day, a script visits the public calendars of venues, festivals and tourism offices across the region and rebuilds this site. Each listing is matched against the others so a show that appears on three calendars shows up once, with the venue's own listing winning when details differ. If a source goes dark we keep its last good copy for up to ten days and flag it. If the total count ever collapses, the update is held rather than published, so you never see a half-empty calendar.

Status of every source is public: health.json.

Where the listings come from

Two of these are regional aggregators rather than venues: In the Tri (Tri-Cities) and Explore Bristol. When a show appears both on a venue's own calendar and on an aggregator, the venue's listing wins and the aggregator is credited as a confirming source. Every show page names its original listing.

Facebook does not allow this kind of pickup, so venues that post only on Facebook are the main gap. If that's you, send us your shows or your calendar link.

Coverage area

Northeast Tennessee: Carter, Cocke, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington counties. Southwest Virginia: Buchanan, Dickenson, Grayson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise and Wythe counties plus the cities of Bristol and Norton, and the rest of The Crooked Road heritage music trail through Floyd, Carroll, Patrick and Franklin counties.

Use the data

Fair warning

We gather listings; we don't run the shows. Dates, times and prices can change after we grab them. Check with the venue before you drive, especially for bigger tickets. Found a mistake? Every show page has a "Report a problem" link.
